New York micro-distillers may now sell at farmers' markets and fairs

Micro-distillation is growing nationwide, and New York state is embracing this trend. New York governor Andrew Cuomo signed legislation Wednesday that will allow these small distillers to sell their products at farmers' markets and fairs throughout the state.

A lot of people do their shopping at farmers’ markets.  It is a whole set of consumers that you may not reach in the liquor store or bars.

By allowing distillers to operate tasting and retail shops on their premises (akin to wineries and breweries) distilleries are more economically viable.
